ANSI/SPRI ES-1 Certification
What is ES-1?
In short, ES-1 is a rigorous test created by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to ensure that materials crafted by metal fabricators meet a series of durability standards and safety requirements.
In particular, the ES-1 certification looks at the wind resistance of materials used in roofing systems, although there are additional criteria that must be met to pass the test.
Is My Fabrication Company ES-1 Certified?
Earning an ES-1 certificate is not easy. Very few metal fabrication companies complete this test, and even fewer companies meet the requirements to receive the official certification.
However, P&C Metalworks is proud to hold a 2021 ES-1 certification through the UL certification company. We offer only high-quality products, which are cut and bent with precision daily by our experienced fabrication team.
Is ES-1 Certification Necessary?
ES-1 Certification is mandated by the International Code Council and is required in every state. Unfortunately, many people overlook this requirement when outsourcing metal fabrication services.
Although many companies are uncertified, you’re better off choosing a fabrication company that complies with the rigorous standards set by the highest authority in the industry.
It’s better to ensure quality upfront than find out the true nature of your building materials when they are tested by the extremes of weather and time.
